SWISS AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL

During March and April 2003, New Yorkers are able to see, hear, feel and taste Switzerland through the swisspeaksFESTIVAL, a first-of-its-kind celebration of everything Swiss. For eight weeks, Switzerland is sharing its creative talents, diverse culture and pioneering spirit with New York.

New York City and many of its premiere institutions are joining Swiss partners to host more than 100 events ranging from design exhibitions to avant-garde theater, from global investment seminars to cultural exchange programs and to plant the seeds for collaboration by future generations.

The swisspeaksFESTIVAL, a joint initiative of the Swiss private and public sectors, was developed over a two-year period in close collaboration with our New York partners.

Friday, April 25 - Sunday, April 27, 2003 First Swiss Film Festival of its kind in the USA The Swiss American Film Festival produced, by Baraka Productions and Vagabond Films, will take place Friday, April 25th through Sunday, April 27th, 2003 at the prestigious Anthology Film Archives in New York City. SwissAm will provide an exciting opportunity to filmmakers from the United States and Switzerland to showcase their work as an ensemble. SwissAm will present the best of emerging talents from both countries offering an open forum for the exchange of ideas and business opportunities. Works to be featured will include shorts, docs, animations and experimentals. The Swiss American Film Festival will be presented within the swisspeaksFESTIVAL, a celebration of all things Swiss in New York in Spring 2003. -> view the official press release
